Purpose and Activities

Mission:

Since its establishment in April 2023 during the Sudan conflict, the Emergency Room of

Wadi Halfa has been working to mitigate the effects of war and alleviate the suffering of

affected populations.

Core Activities:

● Shelter:

o Provide housing in shelter centers for displaced families and prepare shelters to meet basic living standards, including distributing essential items and heating materials during harsh weather conditions.

● Food Assistance:

o Operate centralized kitchens to supply meals to affected families.

● Health Services:

o Offer medical care, medicines, and other necessary health supplies.

● Protection and Psychological Support:

o Ensure general and gender-based protection for vulnerable individuals, including survivors of violence, while providing psychological and emotional support to women and children.

● Host Community Support:

o Address the needs of the host community through the distribution of food, non-food items, children’s supplies, and dignity kits for women.

● Emergency Response:

o Rapidly respond to seasonal challenges and emergencies to reduce suffering.
